Compact sub-metering for a dedicated circuit
The Eastron SDM120M gives a dedicated circuit its own active-energy record. Mounted in a distribution board, it displays accumulated consumption in kWh and provides a resettable reading for a defined monitoring or accounting period. Direct measurement keeps the installation compact because no external current transformers are required.
A clear separate energy record
Sub-metering is useful when the consumption of an EV charge point, appliance or other dedicated circuit needs to be separated from the building's main meter. The SDM120M provides that local record at the distribution board, making it easier to compare periods or allocate electricity costs from an agreed meter reading.
The resettable register can start a new period without changing the purpose of the main installation meter. It should be treated as a monitoring tool for the connected circuit; any use for formal billing must follow the certification and metering rules that apply in the installation's country.
Direct connection and installation
In a direct-connected meter the circuit current passes through the device rather than through separate current transformers. That reduces hardware and panel space, but the meter must be matched to the circuit rating and installed in a suitable enclosure by a qualified electrician.
